In contrast, non-cathedral settings allow the center stone to sit more prominently above the band, almost appearing to float—perfect for showcasing your diamond as the star of the show.

Choosing a Halo Shape

This comes down to whether you want to gaze at your hand and see a round halo or a slightly squared off halo shape. If you like the idea of having some angles, a Soft Square halo is a great choice because you still get the maximum brilliance of a timeless round diamond, with a little added geometric interest.

Precious Metals

We use recycled gold and responsibly-sourced platinum. Our casters have been turning out the best quality metal alloys for decades and are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council for sustainability. Plum rings come in high karat gold, platinum, and gold with platinum center prongs (“two tone”).

Gold

We craft yellow and white gold rings in 18k because it has a higher gold content than 14k. If you’d prefer 14k gold instead, we’re happy to accommodate you.

Rose gold rings are crafted in 14k; our gold alloy is a beautiful, rich rose color and it is alloyed to be more durable than alternatives.

Platinum vs. White Gold

Platinum is a pure metal and very rare; it’s hypoallergenic and naturally white, so it does not require plating. A great choice if you’re looking for a low maintenance metal.

Pro Tip

When selecting a rose or yellow gold engagement ring, keep in mind that diamonds reflect the colors around them. To amplify the whiteness and brightness of your diamond — and for an elevated look — consider choosing platinum prongs.

Getting Ring Size Right

Not 100% certain? Place your order and choose “SEND ME A FREE SIZER” when prompted to enter your ring size. We’ll reserve your diamond and put your free sizer in the mail. We won’t start your order until you’re able to confirm the finger size.

If you receive your sizer and need help accurately assessing your size, we’re more than happy to assist over phone, with video, text—whatever is most convenient for you. The right-sized ring will be snug but not impossible to remove, and we do offer half and quarter sizes.

Hidden Halo
