East-West Orientation

(Available with elongated diamond shapes.) A great way to personalize your ring for a unique, modern look is to modify your center diamond so it’s set east-to-west.

Pro Tip

When choosing your metal, opt for a white center setting to keep your diamond bright. Platinum is a great choice, or you can select a two-tone setting. This is where the band is yellow or rose gold and the center is platinum. Choose 18k Yellow & Platinum or 14k Rose & Platinum when selecting your Metal Type for a two-tone setting.

We design each setting from scratch, to precisely fit your center diamond. Plum center settings are crafted for security and sparkle, to hold your diamond safely in place while letting it shine like crazy.

Securing Your Diamond

Our claw prongs are the opposite of chunky or square and hold your diamond with a graceful point, while Plum bezels are slim yet secure.

Cathedral or No Cathedral

Cathedral settings feature graceful arches that rise from the band, creating a flowing, integrated look that connects beautifully with the center stone.

In contrast, non-cathedral settings allow the center stone to sit more prominently above the band, almost appearing to float—perfect for showcasing your diamond as the star of the show.

A Flush Fit

Many of our settings are thoughtfully designed so that a straight wedding band stacks closely with your engagement ring.

However, low basket and low bezel settings are exceptions—when your diamond sits lower on your finger, a small gap between the rings is natural.

If you’re looking for the perfect wedding band to pair with a low-profile ring, we’re happy to help! Options like contour bands, open bands, or even a custom design can create a beautiful fit. (That said, we don’t mind a little gap—it adds character!)

Your Center Diamond Shape

We couldn’t pick a favorite shape any more than we could pick a favorite child! There’s no right or wrong when choosing the one that’s perfect for you, and if you’d like help, we’re here to assist.

Choosing a Halo Shape

This comes down to whether you want to gaze at your hand and see a round halo or a slightly squared off halo shape. If you like the idea of having some angles, a Soft Square halo is a great choice because you still get the maximum brilliance of a timeless round diamond, with a little added geometric interest.

Precious Metals

We use recycled gold and responsibly-sourced platinum. Our casters have been turning out the best quality metal alloys for decades and are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council for sustainability. Plum rings come in high karat gold, platinum, and gold with platinum center prongs (“two tone”).

Gold

We craft yellow and white gold rings in 18k because it has a higher gold content than 14k. If you’d prefer 14k gold instead, we’re happy to accommodate you.

Rose gold rings are crafted in 14k; our gold alloy is a beautiful, rich rose color and it is alloyed to be more durable than alternatives.

Platinum vs. White Gold

Platinum is a pure metal and very rare; it’s hypoallergenic and naturally white, so it does not require plating. A great choice if you’re looking for a low maintenance metal.

Pro Tip

When selecting a rose or yellow gold engagement ring, keep in mind that diamonds reflect the colors around them. To amplify the whiteness and brightness of your diamond — and for an elevated look — consider choosing platinum prongs.

Side Setting Size

This comes down to personal preference. Some like smaller diamonds on the side to help the center look larger by contrast, while other people prefer a look with larger diamonds and more coverage across the finger.

Getting Ring Size Right

Not 100% certain? Place your order and choose “SEND ME A FREE SIZER” when prompted to enter your ring size. We’ll reserve your diamond and put your free sizer in the mail. We won’t start your order until you’re able to confirm the finger size.

If you receive your sizer and need help accurately assessing your size, we’re more than happy to assist over phone, with video, text—whatever is most convenient for you. The right-sized ring will be snug but not impossible to remove, and we do offer half and quarter sizes.

Choose engraving for a personal touch—or secret message! Our engraving is in block letters so your sentiment is easy-to-read, and we can accommodate up to 15 characters (including spaces).

3/4 Diamond Band

(Available on diamond bands) Choose this modification for additional diamonds on your band that wrap three quarters of the way around your finger. Standard diamond bands wrap halfway around your finger.

Hidden Halo

Most rings can accommodate a sparkling hidden halo, a special extra touch that you’ll only see from the side of your center diamond.

Band Width

Our standard, sparkling diamond bands measure 1.8mm, 2.5mm, and 3mm. If one of these doesn’t feel quite right, we’re happy to customize your band to your favorite width. Just ask—customization at Plum is simple.

Length

Choose your length, and if you need it a little longer or shorter, just let us know and we can customize your order.

Carat Weight

Total carat weight is the sum of both diamond weights added together. This is how stud earrings are usually described.

Measuring just under 2mm to match our Low Basket Engagement Ring styles in every center shape, it's a simple way to get a wedding band with a close fit. Please Note: we cannot resize Open Rings due to the nature of their open design.
